Victor Barakett Set to Join the Cents for 2022-2023

MERRITT, BC. – The Merritt Centennials Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce Forward Victor Barakett (’02) has committed to the team for the 2022-2023 season.
Barakett, a 6’0 205 pound native of St-Laurent, Quebec comes to the Centennials from Westminster Prep in the USHS.

Centennials colour commentator Jared Thomas had the following questions to ask the Cents’ newest recruit.
1. What has you excited to play for the Cents?
I’m really excited for the opportunity to play for a team like the Cents,  I feel like it’s a great opportunity to be a good leader for the team. I’m excited to be in an environment where hard work is embraced.
2. What do you feel are the skills you’ll bring to the team?
I like to play big; as a physical skilled two way player, where I work the puck to my teammates out of the corners and always hungry to get pucks to the net.
3. What is something about yourself fans might find interesting to know(hockey life or family life etc)?
Apart from my love for hockey, I love fishing and listening to country music. I have a younger brother who also plays hockey and I enjoy competing with him throughout the summers.
The Centennials are excited for Victor to arrive in Merritt in late August and would like to welcome him to the Nicola Valley.
