Jacob Smith Commits to Merritt

MERRITT, BC. – The Merritt Centennials Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce Forward Jacob Smith (’04) has committed to the team for the 2022-2023 season.
Smith, a 6’1 170 pound native of Trail, BC comes to the Centennials from the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the KIJHL where he played a key part in their team winning the KIJHL Championship and played great for the team in the Cyclone Taylor Cup. Jacob was a big-game player and seemed to have a knack for scoring important goals according to Grizzlies Head Coach Ryan Parent. 
Centennials colour commentator Jared Thomas had the following questions to ask the Cents’ newest recruit.
Question 1:  What has you excited to play for the Cents?

Answer: Playing for a team with such great history in the best Junior A league in North America.
Question 2. What do you feel are the skills you’ll bring to the team?

Answer: I am a fast skilled forward with some grit to me. I know what it takes to win and will do whatever it takes.
Question 3. What is something about yourself fans might find interesting to know (hockey life or family life etc)?
Answer: I am a big golfer in the summer, I golf as much as I possibly can!
The Centennials are excited for Jacob to arrive in Merritt in late August and would like to welcome him to the Nicola Valley.
