The Merritt Centennials are on a three game winning streak after a 3-2 overtime win against the Victoria Grizzlies Wednesday at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
Max Vallis scored the winner for the Cents with 55 seconds left in the first overtime period. Jeff Jones had a goal and an assist while Evan Stack also notched a goal for Merritt while Steve Tresierra, Regan Soquila and Kameran Crawford chipped in with an assist each. Jones is riding a seven game point streak.
David Morley led the Grizzlies with a goal and an assist while Madison Dias had two assists in the loss. Kyle Aschim had the other marker for Victoria.
Lino Chimienti was stellar in goal once again for the Centennials, making 27 saves for his seventh win of the season. Matt Ginn kicked out 34 shots for the Grizz in the loss.
Merritt finished 1/6 on the power play while Victoria wound up 1/5.
