Kirk Thompson made 47 saves to lead the Prince George Spruce Kings to a 4-1 victory over the Merritt Centennials in BC Hockey League action on Sunday afternoon.
Kyle Manlow, Connor Tiechko, Trent Murdoch and Dustin Beairsto scored for Prince George (12-36-0-4).
Evan Stack replied for Merritt (19-25-1-6), which is winless in five games.
The Centennials outshot the Spruce Kings 48-24, including a 23-4 spread in the opening frame, but were unable to beat Thompson until Stack did with 3:07 left in the game.
Merritt went 0-for-5 with the power play while Prince George was 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
The Centennials next game is Tuesday at home against Nanaimo. Game time is 7 pm at Memorial Arena.
