Cents doubled by Nanaimo 6-3

Merritt, BC – February 1, 2011

The Merritt Centennials top line of Regan Soquila, Jeff Jones and Evan Stack combined for nine points, but it wasn't enough in a 6-3 loss to Nanaimo in BC Hockey League action Tuesday night at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

Stack had two goals and an assist, Soquila notched a goal and two assists while Jones had three assists for Merritt (19-26-1-6) in the loss.

Brett Hartskamp led the offensive charge for Nanaimo (25-22-1-5) with two goals. Twelve different Clippers registered at least a point in the win.

Tyler Steel went the distance in goal for the Centennials, making 28 saves. Charles-Andre Pelletier kicked out 29 shots for the Clippers to get the victory.

The Cents finished the night 0-for-4 on the power play and Nanaimo wound up 0-for-3.

Merritt's next game is the fourth of a five game homestand, Saturday against Cowichan Valley. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
