Cents Drop 4-1 Decision in Penticton

Penticton, BC – November 19, 2011

Bryce Gervais had a two goals and an assist as the Penticton Vees defeated the Merritt Centennials 4-1 on Saturday in BC Hockey League action.

Regan Soquila had the lone goal while Reece Willcox and Braydon Low tallied assists for Merritt (11-6-1-4).

Joey Benik and Steven Fogarty also scored for the Vees (17-3-0-2).

Michael Garteig made 32 saves for the win for Penticton while Tyler Steel stopped 31 shots in the loss for the Centennials.

Merritt went 0-for-6 on the power play as Penticton was 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Despite the defeat, the Cents still have just two regulation losses in their last 15 games and sit in second place in the BCHL's Interior Conference, one point ahead of Vernon and two points in front of Chilliwack. Merritt is nine points behind first place Penticton.

The Centennials next game is against Westside at Royal LePage Place on Wednesday, November 23rd.
