Once again this year, the Cents have teamed up with Q101 – Merritt's Music Mix for the annual Christmas Teddy Bear Toss Fundraiser.
From 5:30 – 7:30 pm this Saturday, the staff from Q101 will be set up outside the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena, selling stuffed animals for just $6.00, with all proceeds to the Merritt Soup Bowl's Christmas dinner.
In addition, anyone who buys a stuffed animal will receive a free child's admission to that night's game against the Spruce Kings (when accompanied by an adult) to throw them on the ice when the Cents score their first goal. All stuffed animals will then be collected and added to the Nicola Valley & District Food Bank Christmas Hampers.
Plus, the Merritt Lions Club will be serving free hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate!
