Cents Blank Nanaimo 3-0

Nanaimo, BC – November 19, 2010

The Merritt Centennials put an end to their two game losing streak in a big way with a 3-0 shutout win over the Nanaimo Clippers Friday night at the Frank Crane Arena.

Max Vallis and Chad Brears each had a goal and an assist in the win while Jeff Jones also scored. Billy Marshall, Regan Soquila and Jakob Reichert each chipped in with an assist.

Lino Chimienti made 23 saves for his first career BCHL shutout and fifth win of the season.

Charles-Andre Pelletier started the game for Nanaimo and made 19 saves, but was replaced after Merritt's third goal by Charles-Alexy Premont, who stopped all nine shots he faced.

The Cents finished the game 1/7 on the power play while the Clippers went 0/3.

The win is the Centennials' first in Nanaimo since January 21, 2007 and first over the Clippers since February 24, 2008.

Merritt continues its' stretch of five straight road games Saturday night in Victoria.
