Centennials Acquire Sacchetti in Three-Way Deal

The Merritt Centennials have acquired 2002-born forward Brandon Sacchetti and future considerations from the Blackfalds Bulldogs in a three-way deal with the Blackfalds Bulldogs and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL.

Sacchetti comes to the Cents in exchange for 2003 forward Bill Gourgon, who was acquired by the team a few weeks ago, Gourgon is now a product of the Blackfalds Bulldogs. The Bulldogs moved 04 defenceman Kaiden Ellertson for Sacchetti, then moved Sacchetti and future considerations to Merritt for Gourgon.

Sacchetti, a Montreal, QC product, spent the past season with the Oil Barons. The 20-year-old picked up 33 points (17g, 16a) in 48 games.

“Brandon has been on our radar for a long time, it’s nice to have finally found a way to get him here. Brandon makes high-end offensive plays, goes to hard areas, and can play centre or wing. He comes to Merritt knowing some friends already on the team and he is excited to come.”  said Head Coach and GM Curtis Toneff.

The Merritt Centennials would like to welcome Brandon to the Centennials and are excited for fans to see Brandon and the rest of the \team kick off the season with main camp starting September 2nd at the NVMA.
