Geraci Commits to the Cents for 2022-23

MERRITT, B.C. – The Merritt Centennials Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce defenceman Jake Geraci (’03) has committed to the team for the 2022-2023 season.

Geraci, a 6’0″ 195-pound native of Old Tappen, New Jersey comes to the Centennials from the PAL Junior Islanders in the NCDC where he contributed 15 points in 47 games (7 goals, 8 assists). Jake is described as a steady, in-your-face defenceman that plays a team first game and has the ability to chip in offensively.

Centennials colour commentator Jared Thomas had the following questions to ask the Cents’ newest recruit.

What has you excited to play for the Cents?

I’m extremely excited to play for the team with the longest history in the BCHL and to be part of the 50th anniversary season. I’m also excited to play in front of a very passionate fan base.

What do you feel are the skills you’ll bring to the team?

I am a physical, hard-nose defenceman who is tough to play against. I also contribute offensively by getting pucks north and getting pucks on net.

What is something about yourself fans might find interesting to know (hockey life or family life etc.)?

I have 3 brothers and we all grew up playing hockey. I am also a big fan of country music and I’m a very average golfer.

The Centennials would like to welcome Jake to the organization and are excited for him to arrive in Merritt and look forward to seeing him take the ice on September 2nd for main camp.
