Merritt, BC – The Merritt Centennials are proud to announce that forward Nicholas Wicks has committed to the University of Alaska Anchorage for the 2019-20 season.
The native of Delta, BC has been a member of the Merritt Centennials for the past two seasons and last season had his best offensive output to date with 12 goals and lead the team with 34 assists for 46 points. Wicks was also a finalist for the BCHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Award last season by accruing just 6 penalty minutes. During the 2016-17 season, Wicks had 5 goals and 7 assists for 12 points in 46 games.
Head Coach and General Manager Joe Martin says that he’s looking forward to the future for Wicks and the Centennials.
“I’m very happy for Nick and the Wicks family. Nick and his family have been great for our club since the day he joined. We’re excited for him to cap off his junior career with his and our best season yet.”
Wicks will join Cents Alumnus Zach Court at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
