Cents Wrap Up Six Game Home Stand With 4-1 Loss to Cowichan Valley

Brady Rouleau made 19 saves in his Capitals debut Sunday as Cowichan Valley won 4-1 over the Merritt Centennials in B-C Hockey League action at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

Regan Soquila, on a second period power play, scored the lone goal for the Centennials with Billy Marshall and Reece Willcox picking up assists.

Brandon Mistal led the Capitals with a goal and three assists while Travis Stephens chipped in with two goals and an assist and Steven Iacobellis with a goal and two assists.

Lino Chimienti took the loss in goal for Merritt, making 23 saves before being replaced by Tyler Steel at 9:32 of the third period. Steel didn't allow a goal on the two shots he faced in 10:28 of action.

The Cents finished the day 1-for-7 on the power play while Cowichan Valley wound up 2-for-6 with the man advantage.

Merritt's next game is the first of three straight away from home as the Centennials head to Salmon Arm Friday to face the Silverbacks.
