Lino Chimienti made 25 saves for his first shutout of the BCHL season as the Merritt Centennials blanked the Surrey Eagles 2-0 on Friday at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
Evan Stack and Sean Maktaak scored for Merritt (5-4-1-2) while Billy Marshall, Regan Soquila, Chad Brears and Dustin Lebrun added assists in the win.
Andrew Hunt kicked out 26 shots for the Eagles (6-2-0-2) as they suffered just their second regulation loss of the season.
Both teams went 0-for-5 on the power play.
The Centennials next game is Sunday afternoon at 2 pm against the Cowichan Valley Capitals at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena. It's the lone meeting of the season between Merritt and Cowichan Valley.
