Cents Upended 3-2 in Double OT by Vernon Vipers

Merritt, BC – October 8, 2011

Kirby Halcrow made 39 saves as the Vernon Vipers beat the Merritt Centennials 3-2 in double overtime in BC Hockey League action Saturday.

Darren Nowick and Michael Zalewski scored a goal and an assist for Vernon (7-0-0-0).

Dustin Lebrun and Reece willcox had goals in response for Merritt (1-4-1-2). Lebrun, Payton Schaefer and Brandon Pfeil added assists for the Centennials.

Lino Chimienti stopped 28 shots for the Cents.

Both Merritt and Vernon went 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Centennials next game is Thursday, October 13 against the defending Coastal Conference champion Powell River Kings.
