Cents trade forward Gavin Gould to Nanaimo for Zach Court and future considerations

The Merritt Centennials have traded forward Gavin Gould to the Nanaimo Clippers in exchange for forward Zach Court plus future considerations.
Court is a 97-born forward from Winnipeg, Manitoba, in his first year in the BCHL. Court has committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha for the 2016-17 season. In 33 games for the Clippers so far, Court has 8 goals and 8 assists along with 16 PIMs.
Head Coch Joe Martin was excited at picking up Court, noting that he’s a player that Martin had targeted for a while. Martin wants Court to grow into a Division 1 player for the Cents and feels that with the talent surrounding Court, both him and the team should flourish. Court will have to earn his minutes, but is coming into a system where he may end up getting top minutes.

Martin stressed that it was not easy to trade Gavin Gould and that he will be missed. Martin noted that in order to move a player of Gould’s calibre, the team had to see a return that they felt was sufficient.
Gould has played for the Merrritt Centennials his entire BCHL career thus far, and is 24th overall in Cents all-time points with 138. Court
