Cents trade forward Ryan Forbes to Chilliwack for Ryan Roseboom and future considerations

The Merritt Centennials have moved forward Ryan Forbes to the Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for forward Ryan Roseboom and future considerations.

Roseboom is a 96 born player from Terrace BC, playing his second year in the BCHL. In 25 games with the chies this year, he has 6 goals and 5 assists to go with 19 PIMs. Roseboom played in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League prior, with the Osoyoos Coyotes, registering 44 points and 63 PIMs in 45 games.
Head coach Joe Martin commented that although Forbes had only spent 3/4 of the season in Merritt, he left an impression on the bench boss. Martin praised Forbes as a hard working player that was a real challenge for the opposition to play against, and also mentioned that his billets loved him. Forbes will get a chance to play his final BCHL year in his home town.

In Roseboom the Cents are picking up a player similar to Forbes, although a year younger. Martin talked about Roseboom’s knack for doing the intangiable things that are difficult to teach, and hopes that with the Cents he will develop into an elite checker.
