The Merritt Centennials won for the third time in four nights Sunday afternoon as they scored a 4-3 double overtime BC Hockey League victory over the Chilliwack Chiefs.
Silvan Harper, Regan Soquila, Brent Fletcher and Brandon Pfeil tallied for Merritt (4-4-1-2), which won 4-1 over Powell River on Thursday and beat the visiting Salmon Arm Silverbacks 4-2 on Friday. Evan Stack had two assists for the Centennials in Sunday's win over the Chiefs, while Fletcher, Billy Marshall and Chad Brears each had a single helper.
David Thompson, David Bondra and Derek Huisman replied for Chilliwack (4-2-0-1), which has lost two straight.
Merritt goaltender Tyler Steel made 33 saves while Mitch Gillam turned aside 36 Centennials shots for the Chiefs.
The Cents finished the day 1-for-1 on the power play and Chilliwack went 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
Merritt continues a six game home stand Friday with its only match-up of the season against the Surrey Eagles. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
