Cents tie Quesnel 3-3

The Merritt Centennials coughed up a 3-0 lead but still remain unbeaten in their last three after a 3-3 tie against the Millionaires in Quesnel in BCHL action Sunday night. With the tie, the Mills are now winless in nine straight.

Reece Willcox, Max Vallis and Dustin Lebrun each scored for the Centennials. Steve Tresierra, Brent Fletcher, Blaine Bokenfohr, Steve Wall and Dylan Playfair each had an assist for Merritt (19-21-1-6).

David Thompson started the Mills comeback late in the second period. Chris Blessing and Derek Huisman, with four seconds left in the third period, rounded out the scoring for Quesnel (11-30-3-5).

Lino Chimienti made 34 saves in goal for the Cents and Bryton Udy kicked out 36 shots for the Millionaires.

Merritt, which earned its first tie of the season, went 0-for-1 on the power play while Quesnel was 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

The Centennials continue a stretch of seven games in ten days on Wednesday at home against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
