Cents start the holiday break on a high note with a 4-2 Win over Westside

Merritt, BC – December 17, 2011
 
It was the perfect game for a fan bus as the Merritt Centennials doubled the Westside Warriors 4-2 in BC Hockey League action on Saturday night at Royal LePage Place.
 
Regan Soquila lead the charge with a goal and an assist for the Cents (18-10-2-4) while Dylan Chanter, Brayden Low and Billy Marshall all got goals on the night. Evan Stack, Chad Brears and Brandon Pfeil each got two assists in the win. 
 
Max French and Garrett Skrbich replied for Westside (10-17-1-5), who have lost three straight.
 
Tyler Steel made 31 saves for Merritt in the win while Dwayne Rodrigue turned aside 34 Centennials shots for the Warriors.
 
The Centennials didn't have any power play opportunities while the Warriors went 0-for-1 on their three man advantage opportunity early in the third period.
 
With the win, the Cents have just six regulation losses in their last 27 games and continue to sit in second place in the BCHL's Interior Conference, two points ahead of Chilliwack and seven ahead of Prince George. Merritt is 20 points behind first place Penticton.
 
The Centennials next game is at home on Thursday, December 29th against the Westside Warriors at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
