Cents Sign Goaltender Hamilton from Portland

Merritt, BC – October 2, 2009

The Merritt Centennials have signed goaltender Keith Hamilton (92) from the WHL's Portland Winterhawks. Hamilton played last season as a 16 year old with Portland, posting a record of 1-6-0-0 with a 4.81 goals against average and an .870 save percentage.

“Keith is a highly touted prospect who battled and acquitted himself very well as the back-up in Portland last season,” Cents GM Tyler Forsythe said. “The adversity Keith faced last season no doubt helped his character and we're expecting him to challenge (Cole) Holowenko  and (Spencer) Bacon to create a strong goaltending group here in Merritt.”

Hamilton will make his Centennials debut as the back-up to Holowenko Saturday night against Salmon Arm.
