The Merritt Centennials would like to announce the release of their 2008-09 regular season schedule, the team's 36th in the BC Hockey League.
The Cents, who are the BCHL's longest continuously run franchise, open their 36th season on the road on Friday, September 5 against the Prince George Spruce Kings. The same two teams will meet the next night, also in PG. It will be the first of ten games this season between the Centennials and the Spruce Kings. The Cents will also meet Quesnel ten times and Trail eight times. They'll face off against Penticton, Salmon Arm, Vernon, and Westside six times.
Fans in Merritt will get to see Coastal Conference teams Burnaby, Langley, Powell River, and Surrey at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena while the Cents will play Alberni Valley, Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, and Victoria on their sole trip to Coastal Conference Island Division.
The Cents Home Opener is Friday, September 12 against the Trail Smoke Eaters at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena. For a complete look at the schedule, click the Game Centre tab at the top of the page.
Once again this season, all 60 regular season Centennials games can be heard live on Radio NL 1230 AM in Merritt and on the BCHL Fan Zone.
