Cents on a Roll with a 4-2 Win Over Chilliwack

Merritt, BC – February 18, 2012
 
Evan Stack lead the charge with his first star performance for the Merritt Centennials in their win over the Chilliwack Chiefs 4-2 in BC Hockey League action on Saturday night at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
 
Evan Stack picked up three points with two goals and an assist for the Centennials (29-17-2-5), one goal on the power play. Brandon Pfeil also scored a power play goal and picked up an assist. Brandon Bruce picked up points for a goal and assists for the night went to Billy Marshall, Reece Willcox, Carter Shinkaruk, Regan Soquila and Richard Sabourin.  
 
Spencer Graboski opened the scoring for Chilliwack (26-21-1-3) and David Bondra scored the only other goal for the Chiefs with just six seconds left in the first period.
 
Lino Chimienti made 24 saves for Merritt in the win while Chiefs Goaltender Bryton Udy stopped 31 Cents attempts.
 
The Centennials went 2-for-5 on the power play while Chilliwack couldn't take advantage of any of their four man-advantage opportunities.
 
With the win, the Cents now have just thirteen regulation losses in their last 46 games and continue to sit in second place in the BCHL's Interior Conference, three point ahead of Prince George and eight points ahead of Vernon.
 
The Centennials next game is at home on Friday, February 24th against the Trail Smoke Eaters at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
