Cents on a Four Game Winning Streak by Taking Down Vernon 3-0

Lino Chimienti had his third shutout of the season for the Merritt Centennials in their win against the Vernon Vipers 3-0 in BC Hockey League action on Friday night at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
 
Evan Stack scored two goals for the Cents (22-10-2-5), one unassisted. The Centennials newest recruit Carter Shinkaruk also scored for the Cents on the power play goal.  Assists for the night went to Billy Marshall, Brandon Bruce, Regan Soquila and Chad Brears.  
 
Vernon (17-17-1-2) couldn't answer back despite many attempts.
 
Lino Chimienti made 22 saves for Merritt in the win while Vipers goaltender Kirby Halcrow stopped 30 Cents shots.
 
The Centennials went 2-for-5 on the power play while Vernon went 0-for-5 on their man advantage opportunities.
 
With the win, the Cents have just six regulation losses in their last 32 games and continue to sit in second place in the BCHL's Interior Conference, eight points ahead of Prince George and nine ahead of Chilliwack. Merritt is 19 points behind first place Penticton.
 
The Centennials next game is at home on Saturday, January 14th against the Chilliwack Chiefs at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
