Merritt, BC – January 15, 2012

Lino Chimienti lead the Cents to victory with his fourth shutout of the season in their win against the Langley Rivermen 3-0 in BC Hockey League action on Sunday afternoon at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

Jakob Reichert scored the only goal the Cents (24-10-2-5) would need after just 0:39 had expired in the second peiord. Brandon Pfeil and Evan Stack also scored for the Cents while Richard Sabourin, Brayden Low, Chad Brears and Regan Soquila each took home an assist for the night.

Langley (13-24-1-3) was unable to answer back despite many attempts.

The Centennials went 1-for-2 on the power play while Langley couldn't take advantage of their lone man advantage opportunity.

With the win, the Cents have just six regulation losses in their last 34 games and continue to sit in second place in the BCHL's Interior Conference, ten points ahead of Prince George and eleven ahead of Chilliwack. Merritt is 17 points behind first place Penticton.

The Centennials next game is at home on Wednesday, January 18th against the Westside Warriors at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
