Cents Lose 7-4 in Victoria

Victoria, BC – November 21, 2009

Brandon Fagerheim score once and added four assists as the Victoria Grizzlies rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Merritt Centennials 7-4 in BC Hockey League action Saturday night.

Wesley Myron had two goals and an assist for the Grizzlies while Dustin Mowrey also added a pair of goals. Spencer Copp and Brad Pawlowski chipped in with singles for Victoria (13-9-1-2). Colin Fernandes started the game in net for the Grizzlies but was pulled 8:30 into the first period after giving up three goals on eight shots. Richard Virtanen played the rest of the way, making 13 saves for the win.

Jeff Jones tallied twice for Merritt (8-18-0-1) while Alexander MacMillan and Andrew Pickering also scored for the Centennials. Riley Wall went the distance in goal, making 42 saves in the loss.

The Cents were outshot 49-22 while going 0-for-5 on the power play. Victoria was 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Merritt's five game road trip comes to an end Sunday afternoon in Alberni Valley while the Grizzlies next action is also Sunday, at home against Westside.
