BCHL Merritt Centennials Forward Michael Regush earns NCAA Opportunity with Cornel University

MERRITT, British Columbia (January 9th, 2015) – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – BCHL Merritt Centennials Forward, Michael Regush, a16, is a two-year CSSHL alum out of White Rock, BC, has earned an NCAA opportunity with Cornell University’s Big Red’s.

This past season Regush tallied 33 points (17-16-33) in 28 games with the Delta Hockey Academy Prep team. During the 2013-14 season, the 6-foot, 185-pound forward netted 24 points (10-14-24) in 21 games with the Delta Hockey Academy Elite 15s squad.

Head Coach Joe Martin of the Merritt Centennials released this statement this afternoon:

“We are extremely happy for Michael. Being able to commit to one of the top academic NCAA division 1 schools in the United States is quite a feat. Michael has made a great choice for his future as a hockey player and development in the classroom.

On the ice we hope for big things from Michael, and look forward to a few years with him in the Centennials jersey.”

Michael follows in the footsteps of former Merritt Centennials alum, 21-year old Defenceman Reece Willcox, who also went on to play in for the Cornell Big Red’s.
