Former Centennials captain Jordan Grant scored twice as the Cowichan Valley Capitals earned a 4-3 victory over Merritt in BC Hockey League action Saturday night at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
Tyler Jones and Stephen Saretsky also scored for Cowichan Valley (20-27-1-7), while Derek Dun made 39 saves.
Max vallis had a goal and an assist for Merritt (19-27-1-6) while Sean Maktaak chipped in with two assists. Blaine Bokenfohr and Reece Willcox also scored for the Cents. Lino Chimienti made 22 saves.
The Centennials went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Capitals were 1-for-5 on the man advantage.
Merritt is now winless in seven heading into its next game sunday afternoon at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
