Cents doubled 4-2 by Westside

West Kelowna, BC – February 9, 2011

Alex Grieve had two goals and an assist as the Westside Warriors won 4-2 over the Merritt Centennials in BC Hockey League action Wednesday night at Royal LePage Place.

Billy Marshall and Blaine Bokenfohr scored for Merritt (20-28-1-6) in the loss. Max Vallis and Jakob Reichert added assists. For Reichert, it's his first point since returning from a 21-game absence due to a wrist injury.

In addition to Grieve, Dru Morrison and Tyler French also had goals for Westside (29-19-2-4).

Both goaltenders were stellar as Tyler Steel made 29 saves for the Centennials and Kevin Boyle kicked out 35 shots for the Warriors.

Both teams were unsuccessful on the power play with Merritt finishing 0-for-6 and Westside going 0-for-3 on the man advantage.

The Centennials continue a stretch of three road games in four nights Friday in Vernon against the Vipers.
