Connor Tiechko scored two goals Thursday as the Prince George Spruce Kings beat the Merritt Centennials in BC Hockey League play.
Chase Golightly and Jujhar Khaira had the other goals for the Spruce Kings (13-39-0-6), while Kirk Thompson made 33 saves for his seventh win of the season.
Blaine Bokenfohr and Steve Wall scored for the Centennials (21-31-1-6). Silvan Harper, Chad Brears and Brandon Pfeil each had an assist in the loss. Tyler Steel made 26 saves in goal for Merritt.
Tied 1-1 after two periods, Tiechko scored his twelfth of the season at 1:44 of the third on a power play and added his thirteenth of the year at 12:31 to put PG ahead by two goals. Khaira scored on an empty net at 19:11 before Bokenfohr replied for Merritt at 19:34.
The Spruce Kings went 2-for-3 with the man advantage while the Cents were 0-for-1.
Merritt wraps up the 2010-11 regular season on Saturday at home against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
