Regan Soquila and Max Vallis each had a hat trick as the Merritt Centennials exploded for five goals in the second period en route to a 9-3 romp over the Quesnel Millionaires Sunday afternoon at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

Reece Willcox, Jakob Reichert and Dustin Lebrun also scored for the Cents while Chad Brears finished with four assists. Reichert and Jeff Jones each had two assists. Soquila, Lebrun, David Sabey, Steve Wall, Steve Tresierra and Silvan Harper notched single helpers as Merritt posted its highest goal total of the season. Only seven Centennials skaters failed to register a point in the victory.

Chris Kerr, Malcolm Gould and Chris Blessing provided the Mills offence.

Lino Chimienti made 16 saves for his fourth win of the season, but didn't start the third period due to an unknown upper body injury. Tyler Steel came on in relief and made five saves.

Quesnel goaltender Kirby Halcrow was torched for five Centennials goals on 21 shots through 32:30 of the game before being pulling in favour of Adam Harris who allowed four goals on 28 shots the rest of the way.

Merritt went an astounding 6/8 on the power play while the Millionaires went 0/5.
