Cents Alumni Brandon Duhaime Chosen in 4th Round of NHL Draft

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce that forward Brandon Duhaime, who played the 2014-15 season in Merritt, was selected in the 4th round, 106th overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The Parkland, Florida native had six goals and 19 assists for 25 points during his lone BCHL season, was named the Centennials Most Promising Player, and played in the 2015 CJHL Top Prospects Game. He went pointless in four games during the 2015 BCHL Fred Page Cup playoffs.

Duhaime spent 2015-16 in the US Hockey League and is committed to Providence College for 2017-18. He is the 20th player in franchise history to be drafted to the NHL after advancing from the Centennials to another league.
