The Merritt Centennials are proud to announce the signing of defenseman Sam Grabner for the current 2023-2024 season. This is the second player signing with the Merritt Centennials from CCHL Ottawa Jr. Senators in as many days.
The Ottawa, ON native has spent the last two seasons with the Ottawa Jr. Senators winning back to back Championships in the CCHL.
In the 2022-23 season Grabner, 6’2” and 195lbs, put up 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) through 45 games played.
“Sam has the maturity to play a calm defensive game, he checks well and has really good stick smarts. We are excited to have him join our group. Sam has won the past two seasons and brings a winning mentality to our team, he is able to read pressure well and keeps that game simple. As a big experienced defenseman he is hard to play against and will be relied upon in key situations this season.”
