The Merritt Centennials are excited to announce the signing of (06) forward Luke Melnik for the 2023-2024 season.
Melnik was born in 2006; a dual citizen with his hometown in Lighthouse Point, Florida. Luke stands 5’9″ 165lbs and played the 2022-23 season with Little Caesars 16u AAA program. Luke was able to compile close to a point per game (19 goals, 28 assists) in 59 games.
“Luke is a player we are very excited about. He is a shifty, quick, smart player with great skating ability and overall skill set; just an overall complete athlete. Luke is also a highly ranked elite tennis player. He has an outstanding hockey IQ that allows him to be dynamic all over the ice, but especially in the offensive zone or off the rush. He knows when to attack middle ice, attacks through traffic which makes him a threat with and without the puck. He is a proven playmaker, and has such a high ceiling. We feel Luke is driven to continue to grow his game at the BCHL level.”
