Warriors Edge Cents In West Kelowna

Devin Kero stopped 39 of 42 shots for the Merritt Centennials as the West Kelowna Warriors got a goal and an assist from Ambrose Firkus in a 3-2 Warrior win in West Kelowna on Friday night.

Jake Clifford's first BCHL goal put the Cents down 2-1 in the 2nd period, as the Brecksville, Ohio product was in on the offense all game long.

Sam Johnson scored his first goal of the season in his 2013/2014 debut, in which the Cents fell to 1-2-0-0 with the loss. Johnson also was involved in a fight with West Kelowna's Brett Mennear, as the Warriors improved to the same record.

The two clubs meet in Merritt on Saturday for the Centennials HOME OPENER which begins at 7:30! Get down to the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena early for the tailgate party, and get a good seat for the start of another heated on-ice rivalry between the Cents and Warriors.
