The Merritt Centennials proudly announce the signing of Martins Kruklitis, a highly talented left-shot defender, to their roster. Standing tall at an impressive 6’6″ and weighing 198 lbs, Kruklitis brings a formidable combination of size, skill, and agility to the team.
Known for his ability to swiftly advance the puck out of the defensive zone, Kruklitis fearlessly joins offensive rushes, adding a dynamic element to the Centennials’ playstyle. Kruklitis is a seasoned and mature player, exemplifying exceptional mobility and prowess in moving the puck. His rangy style of play ensures a commanding presence in the defensive zone, adept at shutting down opponents. In 2022, Kruklitis proudly represented Latvia in the u18 World Hockey Championships, impressively contributing three points across four games.
During his previous season with his club in Latvia, Kruklitis showcased his offensive capabilities by playing 20 games, recording three goals and 13 assists.
