Former Cents Forward Jeff Taylor Named Assistant Coach of KIJHL Osoyoos

The Merritt Centennials would like to congratulate Jeff Taylor on being hired as the assistant coach of the expansion Osoyoos Coyotes of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. It'll be the first coaching experience of the 24-year-old's career.

Taylor, who was signed as an affiliate player by the Cents during the 2005-06 season, made his BCHL debut 27 games into the 2006-07 season and finished second in scoring among team rookies with 21 points in 34 games to wrap up his junior hockey career.

Prior to coming to Merritt, the Dawson Creek product spent two seasons in the KIJHL as a player with the then-Osoyoos Storm. Taylor was named team Most Dedicated Player in 2004-05. In 2005-06 as captain of the Storm, he finished second in KIJHL scoring and won the Okanagan Division Most Valuable Player award.
