The Merritt Centennials played their annual intrasquad game Saturday night at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena. Thirty-six Cents hopefuls took to the ice in a game that saw Team Grey skate away with a 10-7 victory over Team Blue. The Centennials coaching staff now has the daunting task of reducing the team's roster for the regular season, which begins on Friday, September 5 in Prince George.
Jordan Grant (90) led Grey with two goals and an assist while John Waldrop (89) notched one goal and two assists. Kyle Beaulieu (90) also had two goals and an assist in the win. Dustin Johnson (90) led the way for Team Blue with four goals and an assist. Jordan Zalba (88) notched four assists in the losing cause while Jason Alessio (90) had three assists. The game featured two fights, one between Grant and Zalba, and one between Tyler Barr (88) and Ryan Townsend (89).
