Cents Goaltender Tyler Steel Named October Player of the Month

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce that goaltender Tyler Steel is the Mark's Work Wearhouse Player of the Month for October 2012.

The 19-year-old Steel played eight games in October, finishing with a 5-3-0-0 record. The Vernon product had a 3.20 goals-against-average, a .912 save percentage and one shutout.

"Tyler had an outstanding month of October for us, one in which he committed to attend Brown Univeristy next September," said Cents GM and Head Coach Luke Pierce. "His play also was rewarded with an invitation to the Canada West selection camp in Calgary for the World Junior A Challenge."
