Cents Fall 6-2 to Warriors

The Merritt Centennials couldn't overcome the West Kelowna Warriors last night, as they fall 6-2 in the final meeting of the regular season.  These two teams appear destined to face each other in the first round of the playoffs.

The Cents goals were scored by Diego Cuglietta (4) and Sean Maktaak (8).

Assists to Brendan Lamont, Jeff Wight, Brent Fletcher and Richard Sabourin.

It was a tough night for Tyler Steel who made 24 saves on 30 shots.

The Warriors got goals from Amrbose Firkus 2, Daniel Gayle, Brennan Clark, Brent Lashuk and Matt Anholt.

With the loss combined with the Vees win, Penticton clinched first place in the division.  The Cents lead over the Warriors for second place and home ice advantage in the first round has been cut down to just 1.  The Cents and Warriors both have 3 games remaining.

Next Centennials action is Wednesday Night at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena as the Vernon Vipers come to town.  You can catch all the action on Q101 and Q101.ca with voice of the Cents Graham Turnbull, starting at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
