Blaine Bokenfohr and Sean Maktaak each had a goal and an assist to lead the Merritt Centennials past the Trail Smoke Eaters in BC Hockey League play Saturday at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
Evan Stack also scored for the Cents (14-18-0-5), who have won three in a row and six of their last 10. Kameran Crawford had an assist for Merritt in the win.
Ben Matthews and Ryan Luiten each posted goals for Trail (22-15-1-1).
Lino Chimienti faced only 17 Smoke Eaters shots and made 15 saves for the Centennials. Matt Larose turned aside 36 shots to take the loss for Trail.
Merritt went 0-for-4 on the power play while the Smokies were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
The Centennials now have 12 days before their next game, which is in Trail on Thursday, December 30th.
