Cents Drop 4-1 Decision in Penticton

Penticton, BC – October 31, 2009

Logan Johnston scored a goal and an assist as the Penticton Vees downed the Merritt Centennials 4-1 in BC Hockey League action Saturday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Ryan Viselli, Eric Filiou and Garrett Milan also scored as the Vees (17-2-0-1) built a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.

Alex Valenti replied for the Centennials (6-12-0-1).

Billy Faust made 17 saves for Penticton while Cents affiliate netminder Riley Wall, who plays for the KIJHL's Chase Chiefs, stopped 38 of 42 shots to earn third star honours.

Merritt went 0-for-3 on the power play while the Vees also failed to score with the man advantage, finishing 0-for-4.

The Centennials are back in action Sunday afternoon at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena against Surrey while Penticton is off until next Friday when it hosts Langley.
