The Merritt Centennials battled back from a 2-0 third period deficit to force extra time, but fell 3-2 in Prince George in double overtime.
Regan Soquila led the Cents with a goal and an assist while Max Vallis scored Merritt's other goal. Jeff Jones, David Sabey and Richard Sabourin each chipped in with assists in the loss.
Nic DeSousa, Jeff Datoff and Connor Tiechko scored for the Spruce Kings.
Lino Chimienti kicked out 26 PG shots in the loss while Alex Wright made 34 saves between the pipes for the Spruce Kings.
Merritt went 1/6 on the power play while Prince George was 0/4.
