Cents Back on Winning Track After a 3-2 Win in Prince George

Prince George, BC – November 25, 2011

Silvan Harper scored twice as the Merritt Centennials defeated the Prince George Spruce Kings 3-2 on Friday in BC Hockey League action at the Prince George Coliseum.

Reece Willcox had a goal and an assist for the Centennials (12-6-1-5) while Brent Fletcher, Jakob Reichert, Payton schaefer and Brayden Low each had assists in the win.

Paul De Jersey and Chase Golight;y scored for the Spruce Kings (11-9-1-2).

Tyler Steel made 26 saves for the win for Merritt and Kirk Thompson stopped 28 shots in the Prince George defeat.

The Centennials went 1-for-6 on the power play as the Spruce Kings failed to score on either of their two opportunities with the man advantage.

With the win, the Cents have just two regulation losses in their last 17 games and sit in second place in the BCHL's Interior Conference, three points ahead of Vernon and five points in front of Chilliwack and Prince George. Merritt is 12 points behind first place Penticton.

The Centennials next game is against Prince George at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena on Saturday, November 26th.
