Cents Announce Immediate Need for Arena Staff Volunteers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Merritt, BC – August 19, 2011

The Merritt Centennials would like to announce an immediate need for arena staff volunteers for the upcoming 2011-12 season.

"We require a committed group of individuals to ensure safety and enjoyment for all who attend Cents home games, including players and officials," said Cents Director of Security Nik Vischschraper. "BC Hockey League standards require a distinct group of personnel on hand for games and the Cents faces strict consequences if these standards are not met."

"As a result, we're looking for people who are looking for a great way to be involved with the team, enjoy working with people and have experience with crowd control," Vischschraper continued.

"We would like to improve upon last year's security team by setting a high standard of conduct at our games." Vischschraper adds. " We are looking for well-qualified, responsible volunteers who are willing to dedicate a few hours on select nights to the Centennials organization.

Vischschraper encourages anyone who is interested to contact him at 250-315-3171 prior to Wednesday August 31st, but also notes that it's a serious responsibility and not just "free admission" to the game.
