Regan Soquila (Maple Ridge, B.C./Merritt, BCHL)and Team Black finished atop the intersquad standings at 2-0, Red finished 1-1, and Reece Willcox (Surrey, B.C./Merritt, BCHL) and Team White was winless at 0-2.
Dakota Mason (Edmonton, Alta./Brooks, AJHL) scored the game winner for Black as they picked up their second straight one goal win in intersquad action at Canada West’s evaluation camp.
Black opened the scoring on a first period goal by Craig Bokenfohr (Spruce Grove, Alta./Camrose, AJHL) while White responded in the middle frame as Evan Richardson (Nanaimo, B.C./Powell River, BCHL) made it 1-1. In the third period, Black would net a pair of goals as Riley Kieser (Sherwood Park, Alta./Sherwood Park, AJHL) and Mason would put their team up by two goals before Troy Stecher (Richmond, B.C./Penticton, BCHL) would score to get White within one.
Matt Hrynkiw (Saskatoon, Sask./Humboldt, SJHL) and Matt Larose (Nanaimo, B.C./Trail, BCHL) split the goaltending duties for Black while Stephen Klein (Saskatoon, Sask./Nipawin, SJHL) and Colin Dzijacky (Thunder Bay, Ont./Grande Prairie, AJHL) were in the net for White.
Willcox and Soquila are expected to travel back to Merritt on Thursday.
