Alumni: Joe Quewezance & Cuyler Dickie coach Midget Cents to championship

The entire Merritt Centennials organization would like to congratulate former assistant coach Joe Quewezance and former player Cuyler Dickie as the Tier 3 Tracker Sportswear Merritt Midget Rep team won its second straight Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association championship Sunday afternoon at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena. The Midgets claimed the title with a 6-4 over Winfield in their best-of-three final series.

Quewezance, who was an assistant coach for Centennials in the mid-2000's, is the Head Coach of the Midget Cents while Dickie is his Assistant Coach. He played 37 career games in the BCHL with Merritt, registering two points and 36 penalty minutes.

The Merritt Midget Reps feature 1993-born forward Eric Schmidt, who got into three games with the Centennials this past season as an affiliate player.

The Cents look forward to cheering on their Midget counterparts at the Provincials in Cranbrook, BC from March 20 to 25.
