The Merritt Centennials capped off the 2010-11 season with their annual awards banquet Saturday night at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. More than 100 fans, sponsors, volunteers, billets, family and friends attended to make the evening a rousing success.
In addition to handing out the hardware, guests were treated to a dinner and speeches from Head Coach and GM Luke Pierce, Assistant Coach Chad Deleeuw, Captain Steve Tresierra, Booster Club President Betty Doberstein, long-time supporter and volunteer Rusty Brewer and Society Vice-President Tom Reynolds.
The player award winners were determined by voting among the players themselves along with consideration from the coaching staff.

Most Game Winning Goals: Max Vallis/Jeff Jones

Friend of Ska-Lu-La: Steve Tresierra
Jeff Jones, Evan Stack, Dylan Playfair and Steve Wall were recognized for their work at the Ska-Lu-La Workshop in Merritt while Rusty Brewer also awarded outgoing Marketing Manager Maddison Canuel, Team Photographer Ian Webster and Captain Steve Tresierra with her Difference Maker awards. Noni Miyazaki was also recognized for the immeasurable amount of volunteer work she's done for the team over the years, specifically as the Season Ticket Coordinator.
