New Recruit: Davide Patella

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce that they’ve committed to forward Davide Patella (04) of the Laval-Montreal Rousseau Royals for next season.

Patella is a power forward who stands at 6’1″ and weighs 190 pounds. In the QMAAA league he was able to put up 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) in 42 games played during the 2019-20 campaign. Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic he was unable to skate in any contests last year.

Head Coach and GM Dave Chyzowski says that Patella is going to wear the opponent down with his style of play.

“Davide is a hard working tenacious forward who plays physical and loves to take pucks to the net.”

Patella says that despite the challenges of last season, he made the most of it to continue to improve and be ready to make the jump to the Centennials.

“We built a gym in the house so I could continue to work hard and train every day despite everything being closed, and I can’t wait to play in a new province and a league that has a great reputation for developing players.”

He adds that he will impress with his work ethic on the ice.

“I’m a two-way power forward who is very intense and physical.”

The Centennials would like to welcome Davide and his family to the team and the Nicola Valley, and look forward to his contributions on the ice and in the community.
