Merritt BC – The Merritt Centennials are excited and proud to announce that former goaltender Devin Kero has earned the goaltender of the week in the WCHA. Kero played only one game last week but definitely made it a memorable one, earning the MVP in the Winter Classic. Kero turned away 36 of 37 shots in Michigan Tech’s 5-1 win over Bemidji State.
Kero’s .973 save percentage for the WCHA conference was the best in league last weekend. This is his first career WCHA weekley award in the NCAA.
Kero spent just one season as a Centennials player, playing 40 games having a 2.48 GAA and a .918 save percentage. The season after playing for the Centennials was his rookie year with the Huskies. This is his final season with Michigan Tech.
Former Centennials players Gavin Gould and Dane Birks are teammates with Kero, playing for Michigan Tech.
