The Merritt Centennials are 0-and-3 in the 2008 exhibition season following a 4-2 loss in Trail against the Smoke Eaters on Friday night.
The Centennials got off to a quick start in the first period. First, Devon Hobbs set up Steven McDonald to give Merritt a 1-0 lead, then Hobbs set up Brian Kang on the power play to double the Cents lead to 2-0.
Trail tied it in the second on a goal by Ryan Bulach from Chad Gehon before adding three more in the third period to win 4-2.
Graeme Gordon made his third straight start for the Cents, and stopped 30 of 34 shots in the loss.
Merritt wraps up its' exhibition season Saturday afternoon at the Cominco Arena against these same Smoke Eaters.
